fret work

Would anyone have a source for images of blind fretwork?  I have a pair of canned bergere chairs to make- actually English- and there is some fretwork along a wide chair rail that I cant make out.

Thanks

CBWW,

The best source I can offer is Samuel Humphrey's book; Thomas Elfe, Cabinetmaker .  There are some drawings of blind frets that are are part of the decoration of Elfe's furniture.  It could save you some time if you start from those drawings.  PSP

Thank You.  I do not have that book in my library.  Is it worth buying?  Not a lot of "exact" reproduction work coming through the door....but still keeping busy.    Fortunately, the client was able to produce a clearer pic and describe it over the phone easily.

CBWW,

It is always hard to calculate what anything is worth to another person.  It is a paperback with a lot of drawings that would help you build Charleston, S. C. furniture.  I own it mostly for its reference value and not because I have built anything that was illustrated or inspired by it.  Also, I have no idea of its availability and price.  PSP
