I need to verify that the banding on the edge of the top runs parallel with the grain on the ends of the top.
I know it runs perpendicular on the front and back of the top, and it seems logical to me that it would continue to do so on the ends of the top, i.e., run the grain so as to "picture frame" the grain of the top. None of the books in my library show this detail. I'm not expressing this too well. Let me try again--Does the grain of the top banding point north south east and west?
