On another woodwork site there was a discussion about wood for planes and how did earlier planemakers procurr their lumber.
I found this drawing in British Planemakers from 1700 WL Goodman 3rd ed. by Jane and Mark Rees. It shows a log being delivered to D Malloch Plane Manufactory and additional logs are visible in the courtyard:

Thanks for the post. I love comparing old drawings like that with the current photo.

I have a Malloch & Son, I believe a screw arm plow.
