Registration is now open for our Chapter meeting November 1st in Edenton, NC. Cost is $65 per person (cash or check payable at the door). To register, simply email me (Jim Francis at [email protected]) by October18th. Guests are very welcome to attend.

As the first colonial capital of North Carolina, Edenton features some of the state's oldest homes and most significant furniture. So this meeting will be a tremendous opportunity to see what Edenton has to offer. The meeting agenda and notes follow.

Agenda:
  • 9:30 -10:30: Meet and browse at the 1782 Penelope Barker House Welcome Center. Picturesque location on Edenton's waterfront. Great furnishings/furniture; and a wealth of important books for sale, including Edenton Furniture and Culture, and The Cupola House Carver. Great references.
  • 1100: 1758 Cupola House tour. A grand house built by Francis Corbin which overlooks Edenton Bay. Lots of historical drama.
  • 1200: Lunch (provided). Please let me know if you have a food allergy.
  • 1 pm: Hayes Farm tour. This is a remarkable 200 acre property which includes the 1817 manor house, original outbuildings, furnishings, and significant/remarkable furniture.
  • Notes: The cost of this meeting is $65. per person. All proceeds go to the Edenton Historical Commission.
Thanks, and for questions feel free to contact me.
Jim Francis
PS: I plan to go to Edenton on Thursday, October 30th, and stay at the Rocky Hock Campground to explore and ride (bicycle). If you're in the area, feel free to give me a shout.
