I am attempting to build a campechy chair after the conf. in williamsburg. I have made a good pattern off the drawings and have the legs side built. My question, does anyone have a dimension on the overall width of the chair.

I have one we bought from Monticello. I don't know if the size is authentic, but I'd be happy to measure what ever you need.

if you google American Campeche chair an article in The Magazine Antiques comes up, it show sevral chairs with their dimensions, they vary from 21 to 27 wide

DId a quick google search for campeachy ...came up with:  http://explorer.monticello.org/text/index.php?id=69&type=4. Maybe there's a little help.

There was a posting in the FWW Sketchup blog about this chair.  The author produced a Sketchup model of it.  I haven't found where/if he made it available though.  I'd like to get a copy of it.  I just tried to go to the page, but it appears that their server is down.  You might could contact him direct and ask for details.  If you find anything, there are probably several of us who would apprciate the info.

The Anthony Hay shop in Williamsburg was working on such a chair last month when I visited.  There were numerous drawings displayed as well.
