The next chapter meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter will be on 11 April at the Woodcraft store in Glen Allen, Virginia (in the western suburbs of Richmond).  Doors open at 9:00 and the meeting will commence at 9:30.  We’ve got a great lineup and look forward to a very interesting day.

Steve Dietrich will provide an historical perspective on cellarets, a uniquely Southern piece of furniture for storing bottles of wine or spirits followed by a discussion of the design options and decisions he made for the cellaret he has under construction.  Bruce Leonard will demonstrate using a scratch box for making quarter round fluted columns – a process that he used on his recently completed reproduction of the Thomas White desk.  For the feature presentation, Brian Weldy of the Hay Shop in Colonial Williamsburg will demonstrate construction of a Seymour table he has made.

The usual lunch will be provided at Woodcraft.  After the meeting, the group will adjourn to the home and museum of the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court., John Marshall, in Richmond for a tour of the house and its period furnishings.  After the tour, we will walk to Penny Lane Pub nearby for a no-host dinner.

Come visit us in the Old Dominion and experience the Blue Ridge..
