Mr. Garland is a UK-based conservator with over twenty five years experience.

Upon initial viewing of the bed in its dismantled form, at auction, it was evident that the bed had been re-polished and reupholstered previously. Once purchased, the carved elements of the bed came to the workshop. In natural light, the breaking down of the shellac polish finish due to light and moisture exposure, could be seen very clearly.
